South Korean company bringing jobs to Pa.

Osstem, a South Korean manufacturer of titanium dental implants, will buy 28 acres at the former U.S. Steel site in Falls, Pa., now known as the Keystone Industrial Port Complex, for a new manufacturing facility.

The company anticipates investing $70 million over the next five years in the facility, and expects to create 600 jobs over the same period.

Osstem is one of the world's largest makers of dental implants. The Keystone Industrial Port Complex is a Keystone Opportunity Improvement Zone, a designated area in which companies apply for exemption from certain state and local taxes.

Osstem is the second international company to announce plans for locating manufacturing facilities there this year. Gamesa, a Spanish maker of wind turbine generators for wind-based energy, decided to build a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 22 acres of the former U.S. Steel site.
